The hall itself is very interesting, if not a little bit bare. It was a condition of the property being being handed to English Heritage that it would remain unfurnished. I personally think it's a bit of a shame, but I suspose its rawness allows its architectural features to stand out.
The castle is great too, definitely a favourite with the kids. To be honest, who doesn't like a castle.
In my opinion, the best feature is the quirky quarry garden. It must have taken real imagination and vision to design it and actually pull it off.
